It's been a year of transition but we made it. We saw our home base, the R&R Saloon, close and re-open only to shutter permanently in November. It's been a year of transition but we made it. We saw our home base, the R&R Saloon, close and re-open only to shutter permanently in November. Fortunately Macho City's five years at the R&R are well documented. "Good times" would be an understatement. We also said goodbye to our favorite DJ and MC resident, Chuck Hampton (Gay Marvine), as he left Detroit for warmer California vibes.
Despite these changes Scott and I were able to secure a new venue when Menjo's offered their storied space. The other HUGE positive for MC this year was the addition of Jeffrey Sfire. Jeff has been one of our DJ heroes and a good friend for 10+ years. When we heard he was moving back from Berlin, we asked him to join as a Macho resident and he obliged. We're very lucky.
Scott, Jeff and I are really excited for what this year has in store. We're busy booking guests for the upcoming months and working out details for another epic Movement after-party collaboration with Honcho (Pittsburgh). We survived a rough year; let's party.
Join us Saturday, April 25th to celebrate and commemorate five+ years at the R&R Saloon, a new year at Menjo's, the power of Gay Marvine edits, the depth of Jeffrey Sfire DJ sets, the visuals of Geoffrey LaRue, and most importantly - YOU.
