The day opens with a City/Suburb Unity March to End the Water Crises, beginning at two different staging locations that march towards the festival site, joining together from opposite directions.

A rally follows the march, featuring speeches from victims of the water crises and leaders in the relief efforts sharing their experiences.

ABOUT SINK OR SWIM
Over the past two years the cities of Detroit, Highland Park and Flint, Michigan have suffered water shutoffs and/or water contamination on citywide scales. With the situation still unresolved, all people of goodwill are invited to join the "Sink or Swim" march and community festival intended to:
--renew community and media spotlights on the water crises
--give space for victims of the water crises and leaders in the relief efforts to share their experiences
--drive charitable donations of money, water, water filters and other resources needed in the relief efforts
--educate about the underlying issues and advocate for proposed community and legislative solutions for affordable water access, decontamination and lead poisoning response.
Featuring speakers, youth activities, local artists/vendors, games, live music of all genres, free food, a school supply give away, information on local assistance related to water, educational workshops and more.
